Boil Up Some Spooky Witches Brew for Halloween!

witches brew

Boil boil. toil and trouble, conjure some witches brew on the double!

We have to admit that Halloween is our favorite holiday here at Dry Ice Corp. You can use dry ice to make any decoration more spooky and create that festive, fearful atmosphere! One of our favorite ways to use dry ice on Halloween is in drinks, and today we’re going to tell you how to make witches brew with a floating hand. Boil some of this up on Halloween to make your party extra spooky!

Witches Brew Ingredients

For the drink, you’re going to need the following ingredients: 1 quart of lime sherbet, a 2-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda, and either a prepared cherry drink mix or cranberry juice. Other things you’ll need: dry ice, a rubber glove, a large cauldron, a smaller plastic bowl that can fit inside the large cauldron, and a large spoon. Once you have all this, it’s time to cook up some witches brew!

Making the Floating Hand

The floating hand will, as the name implies, float on top of the witches brew. To make this, rinse the outside of your rubber glove. Turn it inside-out and carefully fill it with the prepared cherry drink mix or cranberry juice. Tie the top of the glove securely with kitchen twine or string. Place the hand in either a cooler full of dry ice or in the freezer until completely frozen.

Making the Witches Brew Dry Ice Punch

Take the smaller bowl and place it in the large cauldron. Drop spoonfuls of sherbet into the smaller bowl until all of the sherbet has been transferred. Pour the lemon-lime soda over the sherbet and stir. Using tongs and gloves and practicing other good safety measures, carefully place chunks of the dry ice in the cauldron on the outside of the small bowl. Before serving, cut the rubber glove away from the frozen hand and place in the witches brew. You can also add warm water to the dry ice in the cauldron to increase the fogging effect. As the fogging slows down, add more warm water and dry ice to keep up the fogging. There you have it – a spooky Halloween witches brew punch with dry ice!
