Shipping Your Holiday Baked Goods
With the holidays right around the corner, your kitchen will be a flurry of activity. From the homemade pies to the Christmas cookies, your kitchen will be busy. But instead of eating all of those goodies by yourself, why not ship them to your loved on all over the country?
Why Send Holiday Treats
You normally send your loved ones a toy they already have or a sweater they wouldn’t buy form themselves. But what could be more personal than sending them their favorite treats? Send them a box of their favorite cookie dough kept cold with dry ice and your loved ones can taste your love from miles away. Send Grandma’s chocolate chip cookies to your grandkids in California or your grandmother’s fudge recipe to your cousin in New York. Sending these sweets will not only let them taste the love that went into them but will give them memories of their loved ones to treasure all year long!
Sending Love with Dry Ice
When shipping thing with dry ice, it is important to choose the right package to ship your cookie dough or fudge in. Use a towel or Styrofoam between the container and the ice in order to keep them save from freezing beyond repair. Pack your goodies in a Styrofoam cooler with dry ice blocks covering both the top and bottom of the container. Put the cooler into a corrugated box for shipping. It is recommended to use 15 to 20 pounds of dry ice to freeze items for up to 48 hours or 10 pounds per 24 hours of travel. Don’t wrap the cooler in tape or plastic for an airtight seal. This could make your goods explore on transport and make the package very dangerous when handling.
Don’t settle for plain store bought cookies or toys, send your loved ones memories in a box and make this holiday season memorable.
